Sidney and Karen got up after awhile and headed to the car. When they got to the passenger side, Sidney pressed Karen up against the door and kissed her hard. Karen kissed him and was hoping to take it to their final round for the evening when she heard Sidney's cell phone go off "why can't you turn that thing off when we're together?"

"Because my career always seems to want to keep us from having any fun." Karen moved off of him so he could get up and get his phone from the pocket of his shorts. She got up and walked past him going into the bathroom and getting the shower going. She stepped in and let the hot water cover her body. "You sure? I'm sorry I got that call. Pat reminded me of a few interviews I had to do before the finals start."

Karen didn't really want to tell him "I don't know, maybe I just had so much emotion filled within me the past few hours, they came out as a few stray tears." She saw the look Sidney gave her "seriously Sid, I'm fine and nothing's wrong, ok?"

"Ok, if you say so." Sidney grabbed the soap as they got themselves clean. He thought about having a romp in the shower, but since it was getting late and Karen had to work in the morning, he was able to curb his feelings for the night. When Karen was done, she kissed Sidney and got out grabbing a towel. Sidney stayed for a few more minutes before getting out himself and drying off. Karen had gotten dressed and was climbing into bed when Sidney came out with the towel wrapped around his waist. She watched him go get a pair of shorts and he knew she was watching when he dropped the towel and struted around before putting them on.

"I don't mean to stop this performance stud, but could you go downstairs and lock up?"

"Absolutely baby" he said giving her a kiss and heading downstairs. Karen laid there and wondered back to what she was thinking about in the shower. She was staring at the ceiling when Sidney came back to the bedroom. "Ok, what is going on?" he said getting into bed and turning on his side, looking at her.

"It's stupid."

"Well whether it's stupid or not, let me decide that. Something has you preoccupied."

"I don't know, when I stepped into the shower I guess the realization of no matter how many times we make love, I won't ever get pregnant."

"And the thought of me leaving you to find someone who can scares you?"

"Maybe that's part of it, but it brought me back to when I was pregnant and how I loved the feeling of preparing to be a mom. It was taken away from me so fast and now I can't turn us into a family."

Sidney turned her to face him "you and I are a family whether it includes kids or not. When we're ready, we can find the right baby to adopt."

"Are you sure you're fine with all this?"

"Karen I told you I was. We can adopt a whole houseful if we want."

"A whole houseful? That's what...3 or 4?"

"More like 5 or 6."

"Sid, that's enough for a line change plus a goaltender."

"Really? I never thought about it that way" he said smiling to get her to laugh.

"You're impossible."

"Yeah but you love me."

"And only God and I know why."

"Get some sleep baby. I love you."

"I love you too Sid. Night." Karen leaned up to offer her lips to Sidney for a passionate kiss goodnight. When they broke apart, Karen cuddled into his chest and closed her eyes to fall asleep. Sidney laid there and stroked her hair until he fell asleep too.

A couple days later, the team learned they would be playing the Red Wings again for the Stanley Cup. Karen knew they would throw everything at them to match their game. They did have one advantage, the NHL decided to move up the start date for the finals and knowing the Wings were more beat up then them, they hopefully could use that and beat them. As like last year, the first two games would start in Detroit and Karen was able to go with the games being back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. The team went up on Friday after the morning skate but Karen and Natalie wasn't going to be able to go until they were done work. Mario wasn't going until Saturday morning and the girls decided to head up with him to the dismay of Sidney and Max but they understood and just having them there made them happier.

Saturday morning and Karen called Natalie to meet her at the airport. She told her where to park and they would meet her there at 10a. Once everyone got there, they were on their way to Detroit. They got in and headed straight to the hotel. Sidney had text Karen and told her to go to the front desk and ask for an evelope for her. She did and inside was the key to his room and one for Max's room. They thought it would be easier then having them get their own room or try to convince the desk clerk that they were their girlfriend or wife. They headed upstairs and found the rooms were next to each other. Karen looked at Natalie and they both busted out laughing knowing it would be a showdown between the four of them in bed tonight. Karen was thankful that Sidney had the corner room and only Max's room was within hearing distance. She waited for Natalie to come back over and they sat on the bed watching tv until the guys got done with practice.
