Chapter 104

The next morning, Karen woke up and looked around the room. Sidney was already awake and watching her.

"What's wrong baby?"

"This is not the room we fell asleep in."

"I woke up to the fire going out and carried you up here. Do you mind?"

"Not at all. The floor was making it hard to get comfortable anyway."

"I'm always comfortable when I'm wrapped up with you" he said pulling her tighter to his body.

"Most days I wish we could just stay like this."

Sidney pulled back to look at her "what are you saying?"

"Just that I wish some days we could make work and hockey disappear."

"Is there something you want to tell me?"

"No, I miss this. Staying in bed with no real reason to get up, holding each other until we can't stand it any longer. Either I have to go to work or when I'm not working you need to leave early for practice or a game. Its a no win situation during the season."

"Yeah and in the off season I'm here and you're still in Pittsburgh. We'll get it figured out baby, I promise." Just then Sidney's phone rang and he let go of Karen and got up to find it. "Hey mom."

"Hi honey. I just called to see if you and Karen want to come over for lunch today before you guys head back."

"Yeah mom, sounds great. What time?"

"Noon?"

"Ok, we'll be there. See you soon." He hung up and crawled back into bed "it looks like we have another couple of hours to spend in bed before we head to mom and dad's for lunch."

Karen snuggled back into the nook "mmm, good." Sidney kissed her head and let her fall asleep before letting the tiredness take him with her.

They had gotten up an hour before needing to go to his parent's house for lunch. Both got their showers and headed out just in time. When they got to the house, lunch was ready and they sat down to eat within a few minutes. The atmosphere was nice and it seemed like Trina was making it 'family-like'. Karen thought back to the conversation with Max and wondered if what Sidney was plotting involved his mom. Of course his dad would not be involved in it, which didn't surprise her at all. They finished eating and hung out for a little bit before going back to Sidney's house and got ready to go to the airport.

While at the airport, they had a couple hours to wait before boarding and Karen thought it was time to get a straight answer from Sidney.

"I need to know something" she said quietly to him.

"I will tell you whatever you want to know, what is it?"

"Do you want to get married....to me?"

Sidney thought for a second of how he wanted to answer this and not give any of his plans away "of course I want to get married someday and I would more than love it if it was to you. Why do you ask?"

"Just from a conversation with Max and then your mom making lunch out to be all 'family-like'. I don't know, maybe I'm just reading into things too deep."

Sidney smiled on the inside "baby, I know your feelings and if it happens for us while we're together then great but I am not going to pressure you into anything you may or may not want."

"Are you avoiding the question?" she asked with a smile.

"I am not avoiding the question. You know how much I love you and yes, one day I want to get married....to you. But it will happen when we're both ready, ok?"

"Ok. I'm going to run to the bathroom real quick." Karen kissed him and walked off. Sidney sat there and hoped he didn't give away what he had planned. With their anniversary coming up, he had all the details laid out, he just needed to make sure it would go off as he hoped it would. Meanwhile, when Karen was done in the bathroom she stood at the sink washing her hands and looking at herself in the mirror "he's gonna marry me" she smiled as she said it quietly to herself. Karen dried her hands with the paper towel and went back out to wait to board the plane back to Pittsburgh. An hour later, they were on their way back. Karen laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes until they landed.

The next few weeks passed and the Pens were still winning one and losing the next one. Karen knew something was going to be happening because the trade deadline was fast approaching. She knew Sidney didn't have any idea about what would be going on and who could be leaving. There had been the talk on the internet that it could possibly be Whit or Staalsy. Karen couldn't believe that the organization would get rid of either but since Ryan had gotten back, he really wasn't at his best and wondered how long it would take him to hit his stride. Jordan has his good nights and bad nights, but that could be said for any of the players...even Sidney. It was just a waiting game.

It was the last week of February and after most of the season of playing back to back games and home for a few, on the road for a couple the team was finally going on an 11 day road trip. Karen came home from work on Tuesday with news of a road trip of her own.

"Sidney?" she yelled as she walked in the house.

"Yeah baby" he said coming from the kitchen "what's the matter?"

"Nothing's really the matter. Today at work, I was picked to go help out a couple other stores and will be gone for a couple weeks."

"Well I'll be gone until March 9th, so it's works out perfectly. When do you leave?"

"Tomorrow."

"What?"

"Yeah, instead of going to work for my shift I will meet up with two others going with me and then we'll leave from there."

"Where are you going, what stores?"

"We won't know until we get there. We may stay at one store for a week and then head home or it may be three or four different stores."

"What am I going to do without having you there to cheer for me tomorrow night?" he asked hugging her.

"You've been able to play before stud. Just pretend I'm there."

"But it's not the same."

Karen pouted at him "oh poor baby. You still have me for tonight though."

"And I guess I need to make it a good one."

"I guess you do" she said kissing him "what smells so good?"

"Well me of course."

"Besides you, did you make dinner?"

"Why yes I did" he said taking her hand and leading her into the kitchen. "I bought a chicken and it's roasting it in the oven, a couple baked potatoes, some stuffing and green beans" Sidney said pointing in the oven and taking off the lids on the stove.

"I am very impressed. Who did you get to help you?"

"That is so cruel baby. I know my cooking skills need work but I can still try."

"Well it smells wonderful and you are even more wonderful for making me dinner."

"If you think I'm wonderful right now" he said pulling her close "wait until after dinner." Karen leaned up and kissed his lips, which of course Sidney took further. They stood in the kitchen kissing for a few more minutes until the oven timer dinged. They both laughed and pulled apart to get dinner on the table.

Karen took a bite "wow, the boy wonder CAN cook."

"Don't sound too surprised there baby. I just had to wait to bring it out."

"What do you mean you had to wait?"

"To see if you were really worthy of my dinner making abilities."

Karen just shook her head laughing and continued eating. They talked about the upcoming road trip and hopes that they can pull off some wins. When they got done eating, Karen helped clean up before going into the living room to sit, with Sidney joining her. Karen got comfortable and laid down on Sidney's lap as his hand stroked her hair.

"Mmm, that feels nice. Makes me want to go to sleep right here."

"Well then I am going to stop because I want you wide awake."

"But we just ate. Having sex is like swimming...you need to wait at least an hour before diving in."

Sidney sat there laughing "I never thought about it that way."

"When do guys ever think before having sex?"

"Hey now, I think I have established myself to not be like all those other guys."

"Yeah you have, I will give you that." Karen sat up and looked at him "I'm glad your like that though."

"Me too" Sidney said leaning in to kiss her "I know it hasn't quite been an hour but you know, foreplay can cut into that."

Karen stood up and brought Sidney with her "I like you're way of thinking Crosby." They headed upstairs for their night before they each went separate ways for a couple weeks.

Lying in bed, Karen was curled up against Sidney's chest and just listened to his heart beating, feeling content with her life until Sidney's question brought it all crashing down.

"Baby, what do you think about maybe getting a bigger house?"

"Why? This house is plenty big for the two of us."

"I know, but I think we need a house that's ours."

Karen sat up and looked at him "so you still think of it as my house?"

"Well it is baby. I just thought that we could find one that was us."

"If you want to make this house more us, then bring more of your things here or we can redecorate and refurnish the whole house."

"We could do all of that but why not do it in a new house too."

Karen got out of bed and put some clothes on. She never said anything else as she walked out of the room. Sidney wanted to go after her, but from previous fights he knew to let her cool off. Karen went to the guest room and laid down on the bed. She looked at the clock and saw she had 3 hours before she needed to get up. After setting the alarm, Karen tried to get some sleep.

At 2:30a, the alarm rang and Karen got up. She went into her room quietly and got her clothes then went to the guest bathroom to get her shower. About 20 minutes later, she came back into the room and got the last minute things packed into her bag.

"Can we talk before you leave?" Sidney asked softly sitting up in bed.

"I don't think we have anything to talk about. If you want a new house feel free to get one, but I won't be in it with you" she said walking out of the room and downstairs.

Sidney got up, putting on his boxers and going downstairs to talk to Karen "baby listen to me" he said walking into the kitchen "you are blowing all of this out of proportion."

"No I'm not Sid. Do you seriously know what you're asking me? You are asking me to get rid of my house....MY PARENT'S HOUSE. This is the only thing I have left of them, the only physical memory of them and you want me to get rid of that." Sidney stood there with a blank look on his face not knowing what to say "They are not in another state or 4 blocks away Sid, they are gone from my life for good. I can't call or see them whenever I want to, but I can look around this house and feel them with me."

"I'm sorry, I guess I didn't think about it."

"No you didn't think Sid" Karen said walking passed him and getting her bag, opening the door "good luck on your road trip." With that said, she left Sidney standing there in shock about what just happened. He had the best interest at heart but didn't take into consideration her feelings. Sidney ran his hand through his hair and went back upstairs.

Karen couldn't stop the tears from falling as she drove to the store. She didn't mind the half hour drive because it gave her a chance to clear her head. She loved Sidney more than anything, but this really hurt her. As she got to the store, she saw Diane walking in and yelled for her.

"Diane, wait up."

"Morning Kiki" she said hugging her.

"What are you doing here so early?" she said hugging her back.

"The wanted me to go on the trip to some of the other stores."

"You've got to be kidding me, they picked me to go too. Thank god I will have you with me."

"Me too. I hate it when they stick us with people we don't know. Did they tell you anything about this trip?"

"Nope, but I'm sure we'll find out before we leave." They headed inside and got some other things done before knowing the details of their trip.

Around 7am Karen, Diane and two guys made their way to the airport. They found out they would be going to the Louisiana store. After they got through security and rode the tram to the gates, Karen saw a familiar face walking to a gate in her same terminal. She told Diane she would be back and went to see if she was right.

"Whit?" Karen said coming up to him.

"Karen? What are you doing here?"

"I need to go to a couple stores to help out for work. Don't you have a game tonight?"

"Um, I'm heading home. My mom is having surgery and I told the team I needed to be with my family. I'll meet back up with them on Friday in Chicago."

"What kind of surgery, if you don't mind me asking."

"No. you're fine. She has a tumor and they're going to remove it."

"I'm so sorry Ryan. You ok?"

"Yeah, my mom's tough so she'll be ok."

"Well if you need to talk or anything, call me on my cell ok?"

"Thanks I appreciate it."

"I better get back to my gate, we're going to start boarding soon." She stood up and Ryan got up with her so he could hug her "My thoughts are with you and your family."

"Thanks and I will see you after the road trip." Ryan let go of her and watched her walk a few gates away after saying goodbye. He was glad to have seen her but wished it was under difference circumstances. He sat back down and waited to board.

A few minutes later, Karen and the others boarded their plane. When they got seated Karen decided to ask Diane if maybe she had overreacted with what Sidney said.

"Di, can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Last night Sidney asked me about fnding a bigger house to live in and I got upset about it."

"Well you have every right to be upset, how can he ask you to get rid of your parent's house?"

"That's exactly what my reaction was. I told him he could move more of his things in or we could redecorate to make it more 'us'."

"What did he say to that?"

"I ddn't give him a chance to answer since I stormed out. I hate this, we get back on track after a fight and then this just puts us on edge again. Why can't I let the little things go and quit fighting him on every little thing?"

"Because you love him and every relationship can't be that perfect." Karen shot Diane a look "please girl, you two get sickening at times with all the love you guys have. Maybe he just wants your life to get to the next level and starting it in a new house might not be so bad. You can still keep mom and dad's house."

"Maybe if he didn't wait until I had to leave to bring this up we could have talked about it a little more."

"Look, you're gone for awhile and he's on a road trip for 11 days. You'll both think about it and when you guys see each other it'll be ok."

"Thanks for the motherly advice."

"Anytime girl." They smiled at each other and enjoyed the rest of the flight.

Sorry about the mishap of Ch 103. Was working on it late last night and went to save it but it wouldn't. I had to publish it first then go in to edit it then save it as a draft. The new chapter should be up today...sorry for the disappointment girls.

Chapter 103

As they continued watching the game, Sidney made sure to hold any part of Karen he could. He held her hand, he held his arm around her waist. He wanted to make sure she knew it was her he wanted to be with. The game ended in a tie and needed to go to a shootout. The East won with the score of 12-11. The suite had cleared out, but Sidney kept Karen there.

"Do you need to work tomorrow morning?" he said with his arms wrapped around her.

"No, I took Monday off knowing it would be late when we got back."

"Then would you mind if we headed home to Cole Harbour and stay then leave from there Monday night?"

"I don't mind at all, if that's what you want to do."

"That's what I want us to do."

"You don't need to keep doing this Sid."

"What am I doing?"

"Holding on to me to stop me from running away or something. Or is it to keep you from running away to someone?"

"It's not like that. I meant what I said baby, my life, my future is with you. I just wanted to let you know that by being with you."

"Actions speak louder than words with you huh?"

"When it comes down to what I want, yeah they do. I love you Karen and last night will never, ever happen again."

"I know and I forgave you so lighten up a little" she said with a smile.

"We'll see" he said pulling her closer to his body and kissing her. After a few minutes, they broke the kiss and headed out of the suite. As they went downstairs, a voice rang out above the crowd.

"SIDNEY!"

Karen drew in a breath and looked away when she saw Alicia make a beeline for Sidney.

"Hey, I was looking all over for you" she said hugging him but this time he kept his arm around Karen.

"We were still up in the suite. Alicia, I would like you to meet my girlfriend Karen."

"I thought I ran you off last night" she said with a smart attitude.

"No such luck, sorry."

"Give it time."

"Take all the time in the world, you still won't get him."

"Maybe it's not your decision."

"No but it is mine" Sidney said interrupting "this woman by my side, is who I want. Our time was in Juniors and you ruined it by making a play for a friend. That's something you need to live with. So if you'll excuse us, we have a plane to catch." Sidney removed his arm from Karen's waist and took her hand in his as he led her out of the crowd and to the hotel to meet up with his family. They all got out on a flight to Nova Scotia that night.

When they got there, Troy dropped Sidney and Karen off at his house then went home. As they walked into the house, Karen smiled inside replaying in her head what Sidney did in Montreal.

"Do you want something to eat?"

Karen just shook her head no.

"Are you tired enough to go to bed?"

Karen just shrugged her shoulders.

"Baby, are you going to talk to me? You forgave me, what else do I need to do?"

Karen walked over to Sidney and grabbed his jacket, bringing him down to her lips in a sulty kiss "nothing, you already did everything you needed to do to prove that. I'm going to go change and I'll be back down in a minute." Karen let go of his jacket and walked upstairs. Sidney smiled as he watched her walk away.

Twenty minutes later, Karen came downstairs and walked into the living room where Sidney was getting a fire going. He looked up and saw Karen sit on the couch.

"You look comfortable."

"Well I am wearing your sweatshirt and sweatpants."

Sidney went over to the couch, lifting her legs and sitting on the couch beside her putting her legs back over his "your sitting in my spot."

"But you weren't sitting here so it makes it fair game."

"I'll give you that, but its not fair that you wear my clothes and turn me on like this."

"Well just being around turns me on. Thank you."

"For what baby?"

"For saying what you did to her."

"I meant what I said and she just needed to know that." They sat there looking at each other until their lips met. The kiss intensified with each passing moment. Sidney put his hand under her butt and lifted her onto his lap. "Is the fire warming you up?"

"I'm warm but I don't think it's from the fire" she said caressing his cheek.

Sidney dove in for another kiss. After a few minutes, Karen broke the kiss and stood up. She held her hand out for Sidney to take. When he did, she pulled him up to her so they were inches apart. Karen reached up to unbutton his shirt, pushing it off his shoulders when she was done. Sidney looked at her and smiled as he reached for the bottom of the sweatshirt and pulled it up over her head, revealing her bare chest.

"Cutting to the chase are we?"

"Keep going and find out." Karen undid Sidney's pants and when she unzipped them, she snuck her hand inside. Sidney closed his eyes letting the feelings rush over him. Karen removed the pants and boxers off his hips, waiting until he stepped out of them. After he got rid of his pants, Sidney put his hands inside the sweatpants, hooking his thumbs on the outside and pulled them down. As he went down with them, he saw Karen wasn't wearing any underwear either. Sidney got the pants completely off and stood back up.

"You were planning for something to happen I see."

"The way I figured it, we fought and had yet to really make up for it. Why not make it easy for us both."

Sidney's only response was to walk over to the stereo and put on some music. He came back over to Karen and put his arms back around her. They began to dance to the music as the melody filled the room. They both could have taken this time to let their hands roam and get to where the night would end up but it wasn't like that. There was no urgency to have sex, they knew it would happen but it was going to happen when it felt right. Karen lifted her head off of Sidney's shoulder and looked into his eyes. She saw the love he had for her and hoped he saw the same thing in hers. Their lips soon met in a slow kiss and when Karen felt Sidney would take it farther, he let go of her and went over to the couch. He took off the pillows and blanket, throwing the pillows down then spreading the blanket out on the floor. Karen smiled when he laid down and made a motion for her to join him. She got on the blanket and laid down beside him. They turned towards each other and just stared into one another's eyes, letting the hands lightly graze over the skin. Sidney kissed her but that wasn't what Karen wanted. She left his lips and rolled Sidney onto his back, moving down his body. She didn't waste any time taking him into her mouth and making him moan out for her at the pleasure she was giving him. Sidney knew he wouldn't be able to hold on to long and he didn't want to finish that way. He reached down for her arms and stopped her, pulling her back up to him. Karen was about to say something when he rolled her over onto her back and kissed his way down her body. Karen almost jumped out of her skin when she felt his tongue scrape around her swollen lips. The way he dove into her was like he was licking icing off a spoon. The deeper he went, the harder it was for her to not want to scream out. As soon as Karen felt her orgasm rise, Sidney left her hot spot and crawled back up her body.

"Why are you being so cruel to me?"

"I'm not being cruel baby, just wait and see."

Just then, Karen felt Sidney slide into her slowly. She took in a deep breath when he filled her to her core. He didn't move yet, loving the feeling of being not only inside her but just being with her. Sidney kissed her as he began to rock his hips into her. He never left her lips as his thrusting became more intense. The harder he went into her, the more passionate the kiss became. Karen felt the feelings grow and knew her orgasm was returning. Sidney hit her spot one more time and her orgasm exploded inside of her. The moan escaped her lips making her leave his. A few more thrusts and Sidney expressed the same feelings letting his own growling moan come out.

"So was I cruel?"

"Absolutely" she said smiling "you are the cruelest man alive."

"I love you."

"I love you too." Karen brought him down for another round of kisses. When they finally let go, Sidney rolled off of her and let her curl up to him. They drifted off to sleep after a little while still infront of the fire.

A few hours later, Sidney woke up to the fire dying out. He finished putting it out completely and picked up a sleeping Karen, carrying her upstairs. He placed her in bed and crawled in beside her. Sidney smiled when she found her way back and cuddled up to him in her sleep. Sidney let his own sleepiness overcome him falling back to sleep with the woman he loves in his arms.

Chapter 102

The next morning, Sidney woke up before the alarm rang. He reached over and shut it off so it wouldn't go off. As he laid there, Sidney replayed the night's events to figure out where it went wrong. He remembered when he first saw Alicia and thought how she looked but when she kissed him, he was brought back to his days in Juniors and then it hit him.....he did infact kiss her back briefly. Sidney closed his eyes and ran his hand through his hair remembering the kiss, ignoring Karen and everything else. He got out of bed quietly and grabbed his clothes, getting dressed. He took the key card off the dresser and left the room.

Karen heard the door click shut and opened her eyes. When she saw Sidney was gone, she let out the breath she was holding and turned onto her back. All she could do was pray to God that they could get past this. Karen reluctantly got up and went looking for what she wanted to wear today at the game. As she found what she was looking for, there was a knock at the door.

"Morning Geno" Karen said with a small smile as she opened the door.

"I came to check on you. You ok?" he said walking into the room.

"Yeah, I will be."

"Where's Sid?"

"I don't know" Karen saw the look on his face "he was with me last night and just left a few minutes ago."

"You two going to be alright?"

"I hope so. We just need to talk is all."

Just then Sidney came back into the room and Geno saw him with something for Karen "I think you two will be good" he said making Karen look at Sidney. "I will see you guys later" Geno kissed Karen's cheek and walked over to Sidney, patting him on the shoulder and leaving.

While Geno was leaving, Karen had turned around and finished getting her clothes from her suitcase "baby, will you please look at me?" he said his voice just barely audible.

Karen stopped digging in her case and looked at him. She saw the flowers in his hand and wanted to smile but her face wouldn't let her "those are pretty. Where did you find them?"

"There's a flower shop in the lobby and I was surprised to find it open. I also stopped by the front desk and ordered room service for us. It should be here in a little bit."

"Thanks, I didn't realize how hungry I was until you mentioned food" she said then turned back around.

"Please don't do this to me, to us."

"What exactly am I doing?"

"You're shutting me out. Yell at me, throw something at me...hell, hit me if you need to. Just talk to me and tell me what I need to do to make this right."

Karen slowly turned around and looked at him "I don't know what to tell you because I don't even know."

"Baby?" he started walking to her "I'm sorry and I will forever be sorry about what happened. I never meant to ignore you like that, I swear I didn't" he said lifting his hand up to caress her cheek.

Karen leaned into his touch as the tears fell "why did you kiss her?" she whispered as she looked up at hm.

Sidney's heart broke when he saw the tears but also hearing the words "I don't know why. She came up to me and when she kissed me, I was brought back to Juniors. I know it sounds like an excuse, but its not. Yes, I did kiss her back but it didn't mean anything. I need you to believe me."

Karen looked down at the flowers in his hand and then back up to him "if I believe you, do I still get the flowers?"

"Are you only going to believe me to get the flowers?"

"Maybe" Sidney handed her the flowers and Karen took them, smelling the aroma "I believe you but on one condition."

"Anything."

"That you don't EVER treat me like again or you've played your last game of hockey."

"I promise baby" he said leaning in and letting his lips lightly touch hers. When Karen didn't pull away, Sidney deepened the kiss and let it linger until there was a knock at the door. He reluctantly pulled away and placed a kiss to her forehead before going to open the door. Sidney opened the door wide for the food cart and signed for it as the guy set the plates on the table. After the guy left, Sidney snuck in one more kiss before they sat down to eat. "So are we going to be ok?"

"I honestly don't know."

"Look, I was wrong to handle last night the way that I did. I don't know if I could have stopped the kiss, but I should have acknowledged you when you came back and made room for you to sit with me. I should have also included you in the conversation somehow. You were right, last night and the night before with Mike, there was no comparison."

"You just made my worst fear become a reality Sid."

"I know and I'm sorry." Karen offered a smile to tell him that at least for right now they were ok but Sidney knew he had to do something to show and prove it to her. They finished eating and needed to get ready so Sidney could head to the arena. Karen got ready and was walking out of the bathroom when she saw Sidney reading the piece of paper from his pocket. Karen stood back into the doorway of the bathroom and watched. She saw a smile appear on his face and his hands come together to rip up the paper into little pieces. Karen leaned up against the door of the bathroom as her own smile came out. She made her way out of the doorway as he threw the bits of paper in the trash can.

"What was that?" Karen asked wondering if he would tell her.

"I guess Alicia put a piece of paper with her number in my pocket sometime last night."

"Sure you don't want to keep that for future reference?"

Sidney walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and looking her straight in the eyes "my future is with you." That was all he said before he pressed his lips to hers and kissed her with more passion then any previous kiss between them. He let her go and went to change and all Karen could do was sit down on the bed.

A half hour later, they were leaving and met up with his family downstairs. Troy was ready to go to the arena with Sidney and eventhough they both tried to put on a happy face, Trina picked up that something had to have happened between them.

"Karen, why don't you let Troy head over with Sid now and you can go with Taylor and I in a little bit?"

"Do you mind?" Karen asked turning to Sidney.

Sidney kissed her temple "not at all baby. I'll see you in awhile."

"Can't I go in with Sid and dad?" Taylor asked.

"It's up to your brother" her mom told her.

"Please Sid?" she said almost pleading.

Sidney contemplated for a minute before Karen elbowed him in the side and gave him a look "yes Tay, you can go with us now."

They all said goodbye but not before Sidney whispered 'I love you' to Karen and kissed her before meeting up with his dad and sister.

"I think we need to talk dear."

"About what?"

"Did something happen between you and Sid?" she asked as they headed to the lounge to sit and talk.

"We had a fight last night, well this morning really."

"What happened?"

"We went out to a club afterwards and everything was fine until this girl came up to Sid and kissed him."

"Oh no."

"Yeah. I saw her approach him and kiss him. I wouldn't have minded thinking a rare fan got to him but when I saw him kiss her back it hurt see that he would do that."

"Do you know who it was?"

"All I could piece together was her name is Alicia and they used to date when he was at Rimouski."

"I'm so sorry that happened. Sidney brought her home one time and I didn't like how she acted around him, let alone how he acted being with her. Did anything else happen?"

"When I got around them, Sidney literally ignore me the rest of the night. I was hurt and when I left, he followed me out but it was intense between us until this morning when we finally talked a little bit. I became invisible to him when someone his age made a play and since we've gotten together, I have been waiting for it to happen. I just hoped it wouldn't."

"Karen, when my son sees something he wants he goes full force until he gets it. I can see the love and dare I say, possession he has for you. Nothing stopped him from wanting to be with you and nothing ever will. I bet he was sorry for treating you like that."

"He was and I needed him to show me that I was what he wanted and he did. I guess Alicia put a piece of paper with her number in his pocket and when he found it this morning, he ripped it up and threw it away."

"Now that sounds like my son. You guys will be ok" Trina said with a hint of motherly love.

"I want us to be ok too." They continued to sit and talk for a little while longer until they needed to head to the arena. When they got there, Karen and Trina found Troy and he told them what was going on. They headed to the suite as Karen went in search of Sidney and Taylor. She got towards the locker room area and found Taylor standing outside talking to a couple of kids. When she saw Karen, she ran up to hug her and they both waited for Sidney. As Sidney made his way out, he saw them standing up against the wall waiting for him. He walked over and hugged Karen not caring at what cameras were going off.

"They want to introduce me to the crowd before they announce the starting line up" Sidney told them.

"So you're going to have to stay down here for awhile longer."

"I knew you'd understand. Why don't you take Tay and head up to the box and I will be up as soon as I can?"

"Ok" Karen gave him a kiss and then started to walk away only to take a step back to him "I love you."

Sidney couldn't stop the smile that crept across his face "I love you too." As Karen was walking away, she heard one of the members of the press ask Sidney who she was and heard his simple response "my girlfriend." Karen smiled to herself as her and Taylor went towards the suites.

After they got done announcing the Western All Stars, Karen looked to the opening and saw Sidney standing there. When they announced him as the fan favorite and the crowd cheered, Karen couldn't help but just stare at him and watched his every move, realizing how in love she was with him and losing him over something important but trivial wouldn't have been worth the heartache of completely losing him. Twenty minutes later, Sidney made his way to the suite and found Karen standing behind everyone. He walked up and put his arms around her waist and Karen leaned back towards him. Sidney kissed her head and they settled in to watch the All Star game.

Chapter 101

The next day, Sidney needed to be at the arena to do some more media stuff and Karen was going to go shopping and lunch with Trina and Taylor before they went to the arena. When Karen got there a couple hours later, she went to look for Sidney and saw him signing an autograph for a boy in a wheelchair. She kept to the side until he was done, but the boy saw her and asked Sidney about her. Karen saw him point at her and then smile and knew what he was telling him. When they were done, Sidney walked over to her and hugged her.

"I missed you today."

"I think you had enough to do to actually miss me."

"That's not fair baby, I always miss you."

"Good."

"Did you guys have fun?" he said giving her a look.

"We had fun. It's your dad that I still need to work on, not your mom."

"Just give it time" he said kissing her as they walked out of the dressing room. As the day went on and into night, they wanted Sidney to walk the red carpet with the other players before the Skills Competition. Karen waited for him on the other side but to where she could watch him. It always fascinated her the way he handled himself with the fans and media. He walked down, signing autographs as he went and then got stopped to answer some questions. Karen knew it killed him to be here and not participate but he did what he always did, held his head high and was proud to still be a part of it. When he was finished, he signed for a few more fans and then made his way inside. Sidney grabbed for Karen's hand and went to meet up with some of the other players. Once the Skills Competition got underway, Sidney was asked to join the broadcasters for a little bit, but other than that, they were able to enjoy the festivities. They were both happy when Geno won the Accuracy and and it was bittersweet when Ovechkin won the fans' vote. Karen was actually looking forward to seeing what Sidney would have brought to it, but there's always next year.

After the Skills Competetion ended, they said goodnight to his parents and Taylor, waiting around for Geno and a couple others to head out to another club. About an hour later, a group of them made their way out and some of the media had followed them. Karen knew at least one picture had to have been taken of her with Sidney, she just didn't know when or where it would pop up. As they made their way through the crowd and to a VIP section, Karen hoped tonight wouldn't be like last night.

"So Karen, were you impressed with me?" Geno asked with a smile.

"I'm always impressed with you."

"More so than Sid?"

"What are you trying to do Geno? Go get your own girl to hit on tonight."

Karen smiled at Geno "you're suppose to be a little more subtle with this or he's going to pick up on our love affair."

"I don't think you could handle his love affair baby" Sidney said putting his arm around her, pulling her close.

"You giving her an option Sid?"

Sidney saw the look on Karen's face and kissed her "she always has the option, she just always chooses me."

"You know, one day will surprise you" Geno said getting up and walking over to a couple of girls.

"Well that just made his obsession with me go a little deeper."

"Oh well, he knows better."

Karen turned her head to face Sidney "my knight in shining armour, always here to protect me."

"And don't you ever forget it baby" Sidney said kissing her.

A little while later, Karen excused herself and went to the bathroom. As she was coming back she saw a girl approach Sidney, wrap her arms around his neck and place a very passionate kiss upon his lips. Karen wasn't about to think anything of it until she saw Sidney kiss her back. The worst fear hit Karen and hit her hard. She walked back to the bathroom and prayed that nobody saw her as she went into a stall and silently let the tears fall. Karen sat there for a few minutes and then composed herself. She decided to act like nothing happened and maybe Sidney would tell her on his own. She left the bathroom and made sure she looked presentable before heading back to the VIP lounge. When Karen walked up to where they were sitting she realized the girl was still there and had a very much grasp onto Sidney's arm. Since there wasn't any room next to Sidney, Vinny pointed to a seat next to him. She held a conversation with him since she couldn't look at the scene unfolding in front of her. Not that Sidney was making a play for this girl, he just wasn't getting rid of her either nor was he paying attention to Karen.

Vinny saw Karen's facial expressions and decided to get her away from the others "hey, want to head to the bar and get a drink?" he asked.

"Yeah I think I need one." They got up and headed to a bar that was upstairs by them. Karen didn't try to tell Sidney where she was going and didn't care. "So what's her story anyway?"

"From what I heard, she and Sid used to date while he was playing for Rimouski and then lost touch when he got drafted to Pittsburgh."

"Seems like she making up for lost time now" she said taking a drink.

"I figured it was hard to watch, that's why I got you out of there."

"Thanks but I still have to deal with it." Karen looked over to Sidney and saw what she had dreaded to see since the day she met him. They stayed by the bar talking for a little while longer until she felt she had enough, not only to drink but of what was going on infront of her. Karen walked back over to the couch and stood directly infront of Sidney "I'm ready to go."

"Maybe he's not" the girl said holding on to his arm.

"I wasn't talking to you and it wasn't a question" she told her then turned her attention to Sidney "if you want to stay, that is your choice but I am leaving." Karen grabbed her jacket, told everyone else goodnight and left. She walked out of the club and tried to hail a cab. By the time she got one, she wasn't the only one getting in. Karen sat down and looked to her left to see Sidney sitting beside her. She only looked at him briefly before turning her attention to look out the window. Sidney made a move and grabbed Karen's hand and was relieved when she didn't pull it away. They got to the hotel and when they headed inside, Sidney still had a hold of her hand as they went upstairs.

When they got to the room, Sidney tried to talk to Karen but she just grabbed some clothes and walked past him, going into the bathroom and closing the door behind her. Sidney sat on the bed and put his head in his hands listening as the shower started up. He was about to join her, but decided to give her some time alone first. After 10 minutes, Sidney got up and got undressed before going into the bathroom and into the shower with Karen.

Karen heard the curtain being pulled back and felt Sidney come in behind her. She felt his hands touch her hips and all she could do was move his hands off her and step out of the shower.

"Baby" Sidney said in almost a whisper as he reached for her.

"No Sid" she said pulling away.

"I'm sorry. We were just catching up, just like you did with Modano last night."

"It wasn't the same Sid and don't you dare compare last night to tonight. When Mike and I saw each other, he hugged me. When we were all sitting together I didn't exclude you. It was like I wasn't there and that's what scared me the most....I was invisible to you." That was all she said before wrapping a towel around her body and leaving the bathroom.

Sidney stood under the water, cursing at himself for how he acted tonight. The fact that he did make her feel invisible killed him. He finished up with his shower so they could go to bed and hopefully work everything out in the morning.

When Karen left the bathroom, she put her clothes on the bed and sat down beside them. She looked at Sidney's clothes from tonight and stared at his pants. With the shower still going, she got up and grabbed the pants searching the pockets. She knew what she was looking for and found it in his front pocket. Karen pulled out a folded piece of paper and opened it up, reading what it said.

Next trip home give me a call. We definitely need to make up for lost time XOXO

Karen folded the paper back up and put it in his pocket. She put his pants back on the chair and got dressed. She crawled into bed and turned to the opposite side. Ten minutes later, Karen heard the water shut off and Sidney soon emerged. He got a pair of shorts on and turned off the lights before climbing into bed himself. He laid there on his back and just looked in Karen's direction. Sidney turned on his side and spooned up behind her, thankful once again she didn't move away from him. Karen reluctantly put her hand over Sidney's and wiped the last few tears that fell down her cheek before closing her eyes and letting sleep come over her.

Chapter 100

Sidney took Karen to a club where the majority of the players were going. As soon as they walked in together, Karen felt all eyes on her. She knew she could handle the backlash, it was if Sidney could handle it. They made their way to the VIP area as Sidney introduced her to a lot of the guys. Karen knew a couple which surprised him but he didn't think anything of it. They got their drinks and sat around to talk to a few guys for awhile.

Karen later excused herself and went to the bathroom. While she was in there, she heard a few female voices talk about Sidney and the talk turned ugly when she heard what they used to describe her. She smiled to herself and walked out seeing the girls' eyes pop out of their head. Karen was going to say something but decided not to belittle herself to make them feel better. Fact was, she didn't care what others thought about her dating Sidney. He loved her and that was all that mattered.

As she was walking back, Karen ran right into a familiar face "well, well, well...Mike Modano. Haven't seen you in a long time."

"I could say the same for you my dear" he said hugging her "what are you doing here in Montreal?"

"I decided to take in the All Star game this weekend, you know didn't really have anything else to do."

"Right, so am I suppose to guess or are you just going to offer up who you're here with."

Karen puts her hand on her chest "what exactly are you implying Mo?"

"Oh come on now, talk around the league is you're dating Sid. He's upstairs and you are here, so I take it being true."

"Well it's not like you waited for me."

"Hey I offered a one way ticket to Dallas, you just never took me up on it."

"It's because I wanted to keep you as a friend."

"It worked out better that way too. You heading back upstairs?"

"Yeah."

"Then allow me to escort the beautiful lady to her date."

"Why thank you kind sir." They both laughed as Karen took Mike's arm and he guided them through the crowd and back upstairs. "Hey Sid? Did you lose something?" Mike shouted as they got closer to where Sidney was sitting with Geno and Vincent Lecavalier.

Sidney looked at Karen and smiled "no, sorry man. You can keep her if you want to."

"Nice Crosby" she said "maybe I'd rather go home with this one" Karen said sitting on Geno's lap that brought out a huge smile from him.

"I told you she'd come to her senses and be with me" he said. Geno began to whisper in her ear to make Karen giggle.

"Ok, I forgot who I was up against here. Can I have my girlfriend back?"

"You didn't want her man."

"Yeah you were so quick to get rid of me."

Sidney offered his hand and Karen looked at it. She smiled giving Geno a kiss on his cheek and took Sidney's hand, standing up as he wrapped his arm around her "I will never get rid of you baby" he said kissing her.

"That's not how it sounded to me stud."

"I'll make it up to you, I promise." They sat down and finished talking to everyone. Karen and Mike were talking about old times and this intrigued Sidney for she had never mentioned knowing him. Everyone stayed for about another hour and then Sidney and Karen left to head back to the hotel.

"Are you going to get a cab to take us back?"

"I was thinking we could walk back. It's not that far and it's a nice night."

"Sid, it's freezing out."

"I'll keep you warm, come on." Sidney took Karen's hand and they headed in the direction of the hotel. When they were about a block and a half away, Karen let go of Sidney's hand and walked to a bench. She gathered up some snow and began to make a little snowman sitting on the bench.

"What? I couldn't resist" she told Sidney who was just watching her.

Sidney just smiled but didn't say anything to her. He reached for her hand, pulling her into him "can I ask how you know Modano?"

"Sure, ask away" she said smiling.

"I thought I just did."

"No, you said 'can I ask'. If you wanted to just ask then you should have said 'how do you know'. There is a difference."

"Fine, how do you know Modano?"

"I first met him a long time ago and then he played for the men's Team USA in the '98 Olympics and we just reconnected."

"No hook up to speak about?"

"Well now that's a different story."

"So the total is now at 4 hockey players you've been with" Sidney said somewhat annoyed.

"Mo was when we were in Nagano and it was 11 years ago. I have not thought about him since and from seeing him after all this time tonight is not bringing anything back. Both teams partied a lot then and there were A LOT of hook ups. Mine just happened to be with one. Besides, I thought whatever happened in our pasts were staying there and had no bearing on this relationship" she said moving away from him.

"They don't but its hard when something triggers a past relationship and another player involvment is revealed."

"Ok, there was only 1 past relationship to speak of, the others were just hook ups. If that made me a puckbunny in the past, then so be it. But after Rick there hadn't been a relationship at all until you. I don't get what's going on here. I have never asked about any of your conquests why does it matter about mine?"

"It doesn't alright" Sidney said trying to bring her back to him without success "it's just hard to hear about it."

"Then quit asking about them. I told you in the beginning about everything. If I forgot about Mo well it's because I hadn't thought about him or nothing jogged my memory about it until we talked about old times tonight. Unless all this is going to continue to bother you, then I need to know because I can't keep investing my heart into you and us with having you get jealous of parts of my life that doesn't matter anymore." Karen sighed and turned around to finish walking to the hotel. She didn't want to wait for Sidney's answer and was scared to know if her past really bothered him.

Sidney watched as she started to walk away and realized that he never wanted that to happen. He took off running after her and stopped, grabbing her arm to stop her too "wait, please. I'm sorry I never wanted it to come out that way. I don't care about your past and you have never asked me about mine. I shouldn't keep letting it bother me when I know you're with me and not them. I figured if you wanted anything to happen with any of them again, you would leave to pursue it."

"But I don't want to leave to pursue any of them. I made a lot of friends with a lot of players in '98 but that doesn't mean that everytime I run into one of them I want another night to rekindle anything. Do you realize how jealous I could get with the way some of these girls go after you and you flash them that smile that is meant for only me?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I've seen it Sid and you know what I'm talking about."

"Baby, it's not what you think."

"Then my friendship with other players is not what you think."

"You know, this is not how I wanted the walk back to the hotel to go."

"Well you started it."

"I know I did and I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too." Sidney pulled her close and Karen put her arms inside his jacket to keep warm. He closed his jacket around her body and kissed her head as she snuggled closer to him. After a few minutes, Karen looked up into his eyes as she leaned her lips up to his. Sidney met her lips with his own as the soft kiss got more passionate with each passing moment. Sidney brought his hands up to Karen's face and placed them on her cheeks.

"AH, your hands are freezing" she said jumping out of his jacket.

"Sorry, let me warm them up first." He brought Karen back into his jacket and Sidney put his hands inside her back pockets of her jeans. He smiled when he heard her giggle because he was moving them around inside her pockets, pressing himself into her. Karen locked eyes with Sidney and her laughing stopped and her smile faded "your not laughing."

"Maybe because it's not so funny anymore."

"Maybe we need to take this upstairs to our room."

"I think we definitely should." Sidney kissed her forehead and removed his hands from her pockets. Karen got out of his jacket as he took her hand and led her inside the hotel, heading to the elevator. Once they got into the elevator and the doors closed, Sidney captured her lips again for the short ride to their floor. They got to their room and Sidney had Karen pressed up against the door as he was trying to get the key card in the slot. "Need some help finding the slot Sid?" she said noticing he was having trouble.

"I can get it into any slot baby."

"My slot better be the only one you put anything in."

"It is and..." hearing the door click "allow me to show you." As they walked into the room, they both shed theirs jackets, throwing them to the floor. Sidney grabbed Karen by the waist and started to take her clothes off as she did the same to him. When they were both completely naked, Sidney lifted Karen up and pushed her up against the wall, slamming inside of her. Karen let out a moan not caring who could hear her. Sidney kept pounding into her until she couldn't take anymore. Karen dug her fingers into Sidney's shoulders as she came. Sidney stopped his pounding long enough to carry her to the bed and lay her down. He continued his ravishness of her, getting harder with each thrust he entered into her. Karen didn't have time to think about how he was being with her as the sensations overruled her mind. Sidney thrusted once more bringing Karen and himself over the edge. They laid there wrapped up in each other until their breathing calmed down.

"Either I need to get you jealous more often or..."

"Or I'm just going to continue to surprise you."

"I like the sound of that even better. Um, please tell me you are surrounded by other players."

"Nope, my parents."

"I so hate you" she said laughing.

"I can tell baby." Sidney rolled off of her and brought Karen closer to him. Soon sleep overcame them both as they held on to each other.

Chapter 99

When they got home from the arena, Karen went upstairs to change for bed and Sidney wasn't too far behind. As Karen got undressed, she felt Sidney's eyes on her.

"Why do you keep staring at me? At the arena, in the car, now here. What?" she said almost laughing.

"Sorry baby but I still can't get over what you did tonight."

"Ok, this may come as a shock to you but I will do things in this relationship that will surprise you from time to time."

Sidney walked over and put his arms around her waist "I already know that" he said leaning in to kiss her. Karen moved her hands to his shoulders and removed his jacket. She then went for his tie and threw it to the floor. Sidney just gave her a look when she did that and she just smiled in response. "You know, we really haven't done this in a while."

"I've noticed. What's been wrong with us?"

Sidney smiled at her "don't know but we can never let it happen again."

"How do you propose we fix this?" she said unbuttoning his shirt and letting it fall to the floor.

"Well first, we get rid of this bra you have on" he said while unhooking it. Sidney removed the straps from her shoulders and let her breasts be free from the material. He leaned his head down, taking her nipple into his mouth and lightly sucking on it. Karen closed her eyes and moved her hand on the back of his head, curling her fingers around his curls. Sidney moved his mouth, placing kisses on her skin as he made his way back to her lips.

"Ok, I like what you got going so far" she said breaking the kiss "care to keep going?"

"I thought you'd never ask." Sidney walked her over to the bed and laid her down. He disposed of the rest of his clothes before climbing on top of her. He made his way down her body until he was at the core of her womanhood. Sidney kissed around the top of her panties, hooking his thumbs inside and bringing them down inch by inch, placing a kiss at every inch. After he threw them to the side he sat on his knees and looked at her body. Smiling at her, Sidney spread her legs wider and laid inbetween them. Karen felt the tip of his hard cock at her opening and couldn't wait to feel all of him inside her. "What do you want baby?" he said as every word was dripping with need and want for her.

"You" Karen replied almost breathless as the faint scent of Sidney's cologne drove her senses wild.

Sidney made one swift motion and was fully inside of her, loving the gasping sound Karen let escape from her lips. Moving his hips slowly, Sidney wanted to savor every minute making love to her. As his thrusting began to move faster, Karen bent her knee, wrapped her leg around his thigh and tightened her grip on him as his movements got bigger. Sidney felt Karen start to tighten around him and pounded harder into her bringing her over the edge. She let out a moan and let her fingernails dig into his back until the sensation wave finished. Sidney buried his head into Karen's neck as the tightness around him was all he could take and he came shooting into her, releasing all he had to give her. After a few minutes of lying still, Sidney lifted his head and met her lips with a sweet kiss.

"Mm, that's what I'm talking about right there."

"You are such a guy" she said laughing.

"Can't help it when I'm with you" Sidney rolled off of her and Karen instantly cuddled up to his warm, sweaty body.

"Are you still going to play in the All Star game next weekend?"

"Not sure. I am just hoping to play these next two games. I'll have to see after that and get the opinions from the doctor and trainers."

"I hope you play cause I would love to cheer on my boyfriend during the game."

"You never mentioned that you were thinking about coming to Montreal with me."

"Well I wouldn't go with you but meet you up there on Saturday. I figured you would go home after the game Tuesday night and head on to Montreal from there with your family."

"Damn, it's scary that we think so much alike." He smiled when he heard her laugh "but I would love it if you came up for the weekend. I can show you off to everyone."

"Is it my coming out party?"

Sidney held her tighter to him "definitely. Get some sleep baby."

"Ok. I love you."

"I love you too."

The next two home games were split and the team won on Sunday but lost on Tuesday night. Sidney got to play both games but was still undecided about the All Star game. He didn't head home after the game which Karen loved, getting one more night with him. On Wednesday, Karen got home and saw Sidney's Range Rover in the driveway. She thought it was weird and headed in to see what was going on.

"Hey, I thought you were heading home this morning?" she said after walking in and seeing him on the couch.

"Yeah well plans have changed with this weekend."

"What are you talking about?" she said sitting down beside him.

"Pat and I called Gary Bettman to find out if I could go on Saturday and Sunday since I wasn't going to be able to play. The doctor advised that 5 days off of it would be better and I agreed with him. But I came to find out that if I didn't still participate in the festivites starting with Media Day on Friday, then I would be suspended and not be able to play in the next game for the Pens."

"They would really do that?"

"Yeah they would. So I need to be there for Friday instead."

"Why do I get the feeling you're not exactly fine with all this?"

Sidney stood up and paced around "because I'm not. I have done everything they have ever asked me to do since coming into this league and they can't give me one day. I still planned on going but was only going for the skills competition and the game itself. Why couldn't that be enough? Media Day is about the guys playing, not a press conference of why I'm not. And to hold playing in the next game as leverage really sucks." Karen walked over to him and just wrapped her arms around him. Sidney sighed and put his arms around her holding her close "thank you baby, that's exactly what I needed."

"Ok, so you go and deal with everything starting on Friday. The point is you still go, not get suspended and get to play in your next game, and we get to have some fun in Montreal."

"I get the point they are making because I guess there have been guys to flake out of the All Star game but I'm hurt and don't want to do any more damage so I can play in the next game."

"It's a double-edged sword I know but you need to do what's best for you. It's important to play in the next game so you sacrifice and go a day early, participate in everything they ask and then concentrate on your knee feeling good for that game."

"I love you but your voice of reason gets annoying some times."

"Yeah well, all the more reason to love me."

"Would you mind meeting me Friday night instead of Saturday morning?"

"All I have to do is get my ticket changed."

"That won't be a problem, I already changed it for you."

"Why doesn't that surprise me."

"Because it shouldn't" he said before leaning down and capturing her lips "but I am heading home tonight."

"When tonight?"

"I need to leave for the airport in a half hour."

"Sid?"

"I know, bad timing but it's only tonight and tomorrow then you'll see me Friday. I'm sorry baby."

"It's fine but you better make this weekend special."

"I will, I promise. Drive me to the airport?"

"Definitely" she said kissing him before letting him go to get his bags. A little while later, Karen took Sidney to the airport and said goodbye until Friday.

On Friday, Karen only had to work until 10a and got to leave early. She was thankful for the extra time to go home and get things ready before leaving for the airport. She left Sidney a text message and told him she was on her way and would check her phone when she landed.

A couple hours later, Karen was in the airport in Montreal and turned her phone on. She saw a returned text from Sidney and read what he said.

Hey baby. Go to the hotel after you land and get an envelope from the clerk at the desk. Everything you'll need is in there. I love you and can't wait to see you.

Karen smiled and went to get a cab to head to the hotel. She was happy that she already had a room with Sidney because with being All Star weekend, it was very crowded. When Karen got to the hotel, she went and got her envelope. Inside was her room key, an All Access Pass and a note from Sidney. Karen took out the key and headed to their room to leave her bags and freshen up. When she was done, she took out the pass and note, sitting down to read it. Sidney told her to meet him at the arena and where to go with the pass. Karen grabbed her jacket and left.

Once she got to the arena and was let in, Karen was directed to a press conference already in progress by Sidney. She got there and stood in the back, watching how he presented himself. It was like he had been in the league for many years and knew what to say. Karen looked around and saw Troy off to the side, which didn't surprise her. Eventhough they were getting along, Karen often wondered if Troy didn't have such a strong hold on Sidney's career if he would be as poised today. Maybe he would be having a little more fun when he played. Karen was brought out of her thoughts when the press conference ended and all the reporters started to leave. Karen made her way to where Sidney was.

"I actually have one more question for the hockey star?"

Sidney smiled knowing the sound of the voice talking "sorry but the press conference is over. You should have gotten here sooner" he said as he turned around.

"Sorry, I was held up."

"What's your question?"

Karen took a step closer "do you have any plans tonight?"

"I am actually spending time with my family and my beautiful girlfriend. Why do you ask?"

"Just wondering if we could get together later but since you'll be busy with your girlfriend, I don't want to get in anybody's way."

"Sorry but she's the only woman for me. Is there anything else?"

"Nope, that's all I needed to hear."

"Good" Sidney said pulling her closer and kissing her.

"Um Sid" Troy said tapping his son on the shoulder to break them apart "not here."

"Sorry dad. We are about to go get mom and Tay at the hotel and then grab some dinner, are you hungry baby?"

"Yeah I am. Why didn't you tell me they were at the hotel, I could have stayed with them?"

"I wanted to be the first one to see you."

"Aw, did you miss me Crosby?"

"Yes and you will find out exactly how much later tonight" he said in a whisper. Karen just smiled at him and the three of them left to go to the hotel then to dinner. Awhile later at the restaurant, Karen surprised everyone at the table when she spoke perfect french to the waiter.

"What?" she asked as everyone stared at her.

"You never told me you could speak french."

"Maybe it's because you've never asked."

Soon their food came and they ate, talking about the rest of the weekend. After dinner, Sidney told his family that he was going to take Karen and meet up with some of the players at a club. They all said goodbye before going their separate ways.

I'M BAAACK!!!!!

Hey girls. I am back home and will be back on schedule for the adventures of Sid and Karen. After seeing Mr. Sexy up close and personal for two games, it sparked some interesting writing. Anyway, I will get some more chapters up as soon as I can....I promise :)

Chapter 98

Karen was sitting on the couch thinking about what Max said when she heard the door open. She got up and walked over to Sidney coming in. Karen went up to him, wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her lips for a very passionate kiss. Sidney put his arms around her waist, pulling her tighter against his body letting the kiss deepen.

"Not that I mind a greeting like that, but what's with the greeting?" Sidney said breaking the kiss.

Karen just smiled "just because I love you."

"Well I can't argue with that" he said before diving in for another spectacular kiss. The kiss lasted a few more minutes before they broke apart and went to sit down.

"What did they say about your knee?"

"They found a little swelling but its up to me and if I am able to skate on it tomorrow morning."

"So you won't know until then. Why don't you call me and let me know if you'll be able to go or not."

"I can wait until you come back home after work and let you know."

"You could but then it'll be harder finding someone to use my ticket."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well if you're not playing, it'll be either you won't stay for the game or you'll sit up in the box right?"

"Yeah."

"Would you rather I go and sit with my friends or be with you? I don't see where this is a hard choice unless you don't want me with you."

"I always want you with me, you know that. I just didn't think you would want to leave your friends and come sit with me up in the box."

"I think they're at the point of understanding that if you don't play, I'm going to be where you are unless you plan something different."

Sidney looked at her and smiled "I would love to have you in the box with me if I can't play" he said then kissed her. "Why don't we go out for dinner tonight?"

"I'd love it."

"Then go change into something beautiful and we will head out."

"Sid, it's only 3p."

"Ok then, how about we continue this" kissing her neck "and then we'll go out for dinner in a couple hours."

"I like that even better." They continued on with their make out on the couch but was soon interrupted by Karen's cell phone going off. Sidney reached for it and handed it to her. She flipped it opened and answered it "hello."

"I'm free, I'm free. I got my period while I was working today. I can't believe it finally came. I know you said everything would work out and it did. I'm so happy that I am not pregnant. Oh god, how am I going to tell Max? Oh well he'll be happy too. I'm freeeeeeeee" Natalie said and then hung up.

Karen just laughed as she hung up the phone. Sidney looked at her with a very confused look "apparently Natalie isn't pregnant."

"Is that what the doctor told her?"

"She doesn't need to go to the doctor now."

"Well Max will be happy I'm sure."

"You know, we never really talked about this but I don't think I can handle you resenting me knowing I can't have kids."

"I'm not going to resent you baby. I might have had the thought of being lucky we wouldn't have the scare that Nat and Max did, but it just means we can plan a family on our own terms. There are a lot of kids out there that need good homes and one day we could offer that."

"Are you plotting something and dragging Max into it?"

"Me? Plotting something? Never. Where would you get an idea about that?" Sidney said trying not to smile.

"Alright Crosby, just know that I am good at figuring things out."

"That may be true baby, but you won't get this." Sidney just smirked before pulling her closer to him and placing a kiss to her lips.

The next day as Karen was at work, Sidney went to the morning skate and felt his knee was not where it needed to be. After skating for a little bit, he got off the ice and got his gear off, heading for the trainers. He knew the swelling hadn't gone down enough and was a no-go for tonight's game. When he got done, he grabbed his phone and called Karen letting her know before getting his shower and heading out.

Meanwhile at work, Karen found Diane to talk to her about the game.

"Hey girl, got a problem with tonight."

"The problem being?"

"I am going to be up in the box with Sid tonight since he hurt his knee and isn't going to play. Do you know someone who could use my ticket?"

"Well I was going to find you and see if you had someone to give my ticket to. One of the kids is sick and I need to stay home with him."

"So there's two tickets to get rid of."

"Hey girls. It's such a wonderful day" Natalie said coming up to them.

"Someone's happy today" Karen said smiling.

"It's a whole new outlook starting today. Did you know Max got hurt during the Caps game? He didn't say anything to me then but he isn't playing tonight as a precaution, so I will be up in the box with him."

"Ok, so now there's three tickets to give away."

"Why three?"

"Sidney's hurt, will be in the box with him" Karen said then pointed to Diane "and sick child, has to stay home."

"Maybe Sheril has three people to bring?"

"I'll call her and find out. I need to head to lunch now, so I will talk to you girls later." The three of them said goodbye and Karen went to lunch to call Sheril and Sidney.

"Hello."

"Hey stud."

"Hey baby. Didn't I just talk to you like 20 minutes ago?"

"Yeah you did and if you don't want to talk to me, I guess I'll just hang up."

"I will always want to talk to you. Anything wrong?"

"No, just wanted to hear your voice again. Why didn't you tell me Max was also hurt?"

"Didn't think about it I guess, but yeah he's not playing tonight either."

"I know, Nat told me she'll be in the box with him as well. I am trying to find someone for not only our tickets, but Diane and now Sheril's as well."

"Why can't they go?"

"Sheril is sick and one of Diane's kids are sick."

"What are you going to do?"

"Maybe see if there's anyone here that wants them. I don't know, but I'll figure something out. I miss you."

"Mm baby, I miss you too."

"We all miss you Karen."

"Will you guys shut the hell up and let me talk to MY girlfriend."

"Damn girl, give this fool some so he can stop yelling at us."

"Apparently you need to give them more details so they can get off your back stud."

"They get more than enough details baby."

"Really?"

"Don't worry, I leave out the best parts."

"Saving it for the tell-all book?"

"Of course. Alright baby, but I need to go and I will see you in a couple of hours ok?"

"Ok stud. See you at home." They said goodbye and hung up. Karen finished her lunch and wondered what to do with the tickets.

A few hours later, Karen and Sidney left for the arena. They went to the lounge area for a little bit to relax before they needed to head to the owner's box. As they were in the lounge, Karen was listening to talk from some event staffers about how a family of four was trying to get tickets but couldn't get to sit together. Karen excused herself and left the room to the confusion of everyone. She came back about a half hour later, all smiles and rejoined Sidney and the guys.

"Where did you run off to?"

"I just needed to take care of something."

"What aren't you telling me?"

"I don't know. I've already told you that I love you, so I'm good."

"I will find out, you know that baby."

"I know" she said kissing his cheek.

A while later Sidney, Karen, Natalie and Max made their way to the box to watch the game. After two periods, the Pens were up 2-1 and as they stayed in the box during intermission Sidney's attention was on the tv and an interview Dan Potash was doing. He got interested and turned up the volume.

Standing with me is Mark Ashwood and he has a remarkable story about how he came to get his tickets for the game tonight. Now Mark from what you've told me, you were trying to get four tickets to the game tonight but were unsuccessful in getting all four seats together until about 30 minutes before game time, is that right?

Absolutely Dan, I wanted my kids to see the game tonight but couldn't get four seats together. Then when I was about to give up and go home with three unhappy kids, this wonderful woman came up to me and offered her four tickets here in the Igloo seats.

"Baby, look at this. Aren't those your seats?"

Karen looked at the tv "yeah they look like them" she said before turning her attention back to the on ice activities.

Did she say why she was giving them to you?

No, all she said was she couldn't use them and she had heard about my delimma and wanted to help. She wouldn't even take money for them. I could not thank her enough. She definitely made this night with my kids special.

Well there you have it. A kind heart from someone here at the Igloo. We will be back to start the third period after this.

Karen felt eyes on her and turned around to see not only Sidney, Max and Natalie but Mario staring at her.

"Did you give them your tickets Karen?" Mario asked.

"We were in the lounge when I heard a couple staffers taking about this guy out front trying to get seats together. I had my tickets with me and no one to give them to, so I left to see if he was still outside and gave him mine. It's no big deal."

"Well apparently to him it was for Potash to pick it up."

"Karen" Mario said hugging her "you never stop amazing me."

"Thanks but I did what anyone else would do."

"Are you kidding? Look out there and tell me how many of those people would give up their tickets" Max said before him and Natalie left the suite.

"Max has a point baby."

"Sid if anyone else had a chance to be in any suite or owner's box for a game, then yes someone down there would probably do the same thing I did. It's not a big deal."

Sidney wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her closer to him "it's a big deal to me that you would treat our fans like that. It proves what a great person you are and I love that about you."

"So what do you want to do, tell the entire 17,132 sell out crowd that YOUR girlfriend was the one who was so generous?"

"Maybe. Would you let me?"

"No, I don't want bombarded with hate mail or threats on my life thank you."

"Wouldn't happen baby. I love you to much to let anything happen to you" he said placing a kiss to her lips. Soon everyone else came back as the third period started. The Pens ended up winning 3-1 and they headed down for Sidney to see the guys. Karen was sitting in the lounge area when Dan Potash came down and asked to see her out in the hallway for a minute. As she walked out, she saw the tv camera and knew someone said something.

Thanks Rob, I am standing here with the woman who generously gave up her tickets to a father and his three kids so they could see the game tonight together. Now Karen, what made you give up your tickets?

I just had the opportunity to sit somewhere else and didn't really want my tickets to go to waste, so when I heard that there was a gentleman outside trying to get seats together from the box office, I went out and offered him mine.

I understand that you are good friends with Mario and that was who, I guess you could say told on you. He was the one who invited you to sit in the owner's box with him tonight but he never expected you to be so giving.

It was a simple choice to make Dan. I didn't do it for the recognition from you or Mario, I just wanted to help out so some kids could see their favorite team win tonight. It's what anyone else would have done.

Thank you Karen and from what I have heard about this young lady from the other Penguins in the locker room, she is more special than she's letting on. Back to you in the studio.

"Sorry about that but both Mario and Sidney told me to get you to confess that you were the one who gave up your tickets."

"Yeah, nice twist there bringing me on camera."

"I just do what the boss tells me to. Thanks again for the interview and I will keep it under wraps about you and Sidney."

"I figured one of them had to tell you." Dan left Karen in the hallway and couldn't believe they did that to her. She walked back into the lounge and saw both of them standing there, going over to hug them "you couldn't let it go huh?" she said smiling at them.

"Don't look at me, it was all Sid's idea" Mario said with a smile then left.

"Baby, I just thought they would want to know who it was. I'm sorry for doing it if you're mad."

"I'm not mad and he kept you out of it so it's all good."

"It's going to be fine if people know about us."

"If you want to announce it, then it's fine but I know how fans can get finding out you're not 'available' for them."

"I'll deal with my fans baby, ok? As long as you and I love each other, the world of hockey fans will understand in time. It's about us, remember?"

"I know."

"Besides, I just want the fans to know how sweet you are."

"Ah, let them have a perfect picture of me in their minds then have them hate me."

"Will you just stop."

"Ok fine, I'll stop" she said kissing him "but you know I'm right."

"I know you're right baby." Sidney brought her closer for another kiss before heading out and going home.

Chapter 97

The girls got together and got situated in their seats. As the game started, the Pens got the scoring started and got the first goal for the only one in the first period. Sidney assisted on Geno's goal and it looked like the game was going in the right direction. As the second period got going, the Caps scored to even it up but then they came back to take the lead until the Caps scored again and it was tied 2-2 at the end of the second. The third period was the breaking point. Even as the Pens tried to keep up in the scoring when they tied it after the Caps took the lead in the beginning of the third, nothing helped and they went on a scoring streak beating the Pens 6-3. Of course, that wasn't the worst part of it. Sidney went down late in the third and was slow getting up and over to the bench. Karen had a fearful look to her face when she saw him. She stared at the bench watching him and saw during a break in the play that he went to the locker room with one of the trainers. Karen looked to her friends and told them she had to go, running up the steps and down to the locker room by herself.

She got to the locker room and went to find him. He was in his stall and had his gear off, wearing a pair of shorts. As Karen walked over to him, she saw his knee begin to swell and knew it wasn't good.

"Hey baby" he said looking up at her.

"Hey. You ok?" she said sitting down beside him.

"Yeah, I will be. The trainer hasn't looked at it yet. How did you get down here so fast?"

"I ran."

"Might have to get hurt more often if that's what it takes."

"Not funny Crosby."

Sidney leaned over and kissed her lips "sorry. We'll see what they say and go from there ok?"

"Ok." Karen got up when he did and Sidney put his arm around her as they walked into the trainer's room. Karen stood back and just watched, waiting to see what he said. Before they were done, her phone rang and she excused herself to answer it. When she came back a few minutes later, Karen saw the look on Sidney's face "well?"

"He's not sure so I am going to get an MRI tomorrow and see what they say."

"Let's hope it nothing serious."

"From your beautiful lips to God's ears baby" he said kissing her. "I am going to get my shower and then we can head home, ok?"

"Ok. I'll tell Natalie that I am going to wait for you so she can decide to stay with Max or head home. I love you."

"I love you too." Karen helped Sidney towards the locker room and went into the lounge to wait for him.

A while later, Sidney came out and sat beside her "no media?" she asked.

"Nope, they were told I had a lower body injury and that I was getting checked out."

"So then why are we waiting around when you could be home resting?"

"Just giving them time to clear out."

"Gotcha." Karen smiled and put her head on his shoulder as they sat and waited. About 20 minutes later, they left and headed home.

The next day, Karen went to work and Sidney made his way to get the MRI done on his knee. He knew he wouldn't be back by the time Karen got home but knew Max was going to talk to her. Sidney hoped when he talked to Max, he got the answer he hoped for.

At 1:30p Karen pulled into her driveway and not a minute later, a car pulled up as she was exiting her car. She smiled when she saw Max get out and come towards her.

"Man, you don't even give a girl time to prepare for a visit from you."

"Nope, don't want to give her time to change her mind about seeing me."

"Well why don't we head in and have ourselves a chat then." Karen went inside the house with Max following behind her. She excused herself and went to change as Max made himself comfortable in the living room. "So what can I help you with Maxwell?" she said sitting beside him.

"Um Kiki, that's not my name. It's Maxime not Maxwell."

"But I like Maxwell better."

"How about Maxie?"

"No good. I'd have to start calling you Maxie Pad."

Max just looked at her as she sat there smiling "alright fine, Maxwell it is."

"I love how easily you guys give in. Sid should be happy he has some company in that department."

"Please don't go there" he said putting his head in his hands.

"Ok fine, what's up?"

"I just wanted to talk about what's going on with Natalie and I. You obviously know since you guys are best friends."

"Yeah I do. She's scared Max."

"I'm scared to Karen. With all the girls I have been with, I have never had this problem."

"The problem that no other girl you've been with has had a pregnancy scare."

"No, the problem of being in love and faced with something like this. This just started between Nat and I. I don't want it to end before we really get together. Maybe if she is pregnant, I should ask her to marry me."

"That wouldn't be a good idea Max."

"Why not?"

"Because if I know Nat, she is not the type of person to want a problem like this solved with a simple solution. She's feels the same way about you Max, but if you propose only because she's pregnant it'll do more harm than good."

"What do you mean?"

"She'll think you're only asking her because she's pregnant and that you might come to your senses and leave her later on. Max, Nat is a strong woman that has been independent as long as I have. If she is pregnant, she'll want your help but she's not looking for a husband out of it. Understand what I mean?"

"Yeah I do. I just want her to know that I am not going to leave her alone."

"She's knows Max" Karen said putting her hand on his back and lightly rubbing "it just hasn't sunk in yet."

"You have too much wisdom for one person girl."

"I know and it does get annoying some times, but it's better when people hear the truth."

Thanks Karen, I really appreciate it."

"Anytime Maxwell" she said smiling. "Anything else I can help you with?"

"No, I think I'm good for now until we find out for sure."

"Ok. Want to hang out until Sidney gets back?"

"I'd love to. It'll give us a chance to talk about you and Sid."

"What about me and Sid?"

"You seem really happy with him."

"I am. To be honest, I never thought we'd be where we are at this moment."

"Meaning?"

"I guess after meeting him and getting to know him, I figured we would be friends first. But here I am in love and living with him."

"So are the wedding bells going to be ringing soon?"

"I don't think so Maxwell."

"What, you don't want to get married ever or just not to Sid?"

"Before Sid and I got together, the idea of marriage was never in my head. Now that we are together, I just don't see it Max. He's only 21 and by the time he's ready, I may not be the one he's with."

"How could you think that? He loves you more then the game of hockey and that's his career."

"I know he does and I love him more than any previous boyfriend but I know how the world works Max and Sidney will soon find out that there's someone else out there for him that he'll love more than me. Some days I wonder if this is the day he'll come in here and say he's moving out because he's found someone else that makes him feel like he does now. It's not going to matter if I ever want to get married to Sid or anyone, he's not going to want to marry me Max."

"Can I tell you what me and the other guys see?"

"Sure."

"No matter how many girls are around him, when you walk into a room his eyes focus on only you. Any of those girls can try and make a play for him and he looks like he's bored to death. We can talk about the most beautiful, sexy woman that we see on any given game night in the stands and all he can talk about is you."

"But that doesn't mean he wants to marry me Max."

"No, but it does mean you're the only one he wants."

"Look Max, I was in love once and had the chance to have it all. It was all taken out from under me and I never want to have that feeling again...especially with Sidney. I'm just scared that he'll leave me for someone younger and more beautiful."

"There is no one more beautiful than you Kiki."

"Don't let Nat hear you talk like that" she said smiling. "How did I become the fascination of all you guys?"

"You're not phony like the other girls try to be when they get around us. Hell, you even act like most of us. I think deep down we all want what Sid found first and if we can't find it for ourselves, flirting with you makes it worthwhile."

Karen couldn't help but laugh "are you being serious?"

"Absolutely. Would I lie to you about anything?"

"Yes you would if it was to save your ass."

"I think you need to give Sid the benefit of the doubt. He may surprise you about all your feelings" Max said getting up "I need to get going and do a few things before Natalie gets off work."

Karen walked Max to the door and out onto the porch. She hugged him and gave a quick kiss to his cheek "Things will be ok for you guys."

"Things will be ok for all of us. Thanks for listening" he said and walked off the porch.

Karen started back inside but turned and yelled at Max "one more thing before you go?"

"Anything."

"Does Sidney want to marry me?"

Max just looked at Karen and shrugged his shoulders "don't know" then turned and smiled as he got to his car. Karen saw his smile and wondered if something was up but shook her head and went inside. As Max was about to get in, Sidney drove up and got out walking over to him. "How's the knee Sid?"

"There's some swelling but I'll have to see at the morning skate if I'm able to go tomorrow night. How did it go with Karen?"

"She helped me with the situation with Nat and I think I'm ready for anything to come at me."

"And what about what the other?"

"She still has reservations that you're going to find someone younger, but I think it's more that she doesn't want what you guys have to end."

"I don't want it to end either Max."

"Then I think you might have a girlfriend that will say yes to a question you ask her when you're ready. I'll see you tomorrow morning" he told him before running to his car. Sidney stood there and smiled hoping Max was right about it. He still had four months to prove to Karen that he was in this for the long haul and was going to make her see that every day until then.

We pause for station identification....

I am sorry to report that I have decided to stop this story.......

Nah, just kidding *ducking objects being thrown*

Anyway girls, I am heading home to make this story come true and find my beloved Sidney. Ok, so maybe that won't happen but I do intend to see a couple Pens games while I am home and he better be playing. I will still be working on the story while at home, just not sure when I would be posting.

Please forgive me if the story doesn't get updated as often as I am used to, but I promise some good things on the horizon for Sidney and Karen.

*kisses*

Chapter 96

A couple hours later, Karen had dinner done and waited for Sidney to come down. While she was waiting, the phone rang and Karen went to answer it.

"Hello."

"Hey girl its me."

"Hey Nat, what's going on?"

"Could you maybe not go in with Sidney and wait for me for us to go together?"

"Sure" Karen paused for a minute "you told Max didn't you?"

"Yeah I did but we can talk about it later. I want to eat dinner with Max and then when he heads out I will be over, ok?"

"Ok. See you soon." They hung up from each other and Karen got the food on the table.

"Who were you talking to baby?" Sidney asked walking into the kitchen.

"Natalie. She wants to ride to the arena together so we can talk. Mind that I wait for her and then see you there?"

"You know I don't mind. Can I know what's going on?"

"Nat's late and she needed to tell Max."

"Oh man, how late?"

"Well when she told us on Saturday she was 7 days, so now that it's Wednesday...more like 11 days."

Sidney hugged her, holding on "did she say what she was going to do?"

"She didn't know on Saturday so she must have thought about it since then. We all told her to tell Max before she went to the doctor's."

"I guess that's what she did. He said it sounded important when he left today after getting off the phone with her."

"She's afraid that Max will break up with her" she said looking at Sidney.

"Max isn't like that when it comes to responsibilities. He'll do what's right." Sidney leaned down and kissed Karen. When they broke apart and he hugged her, he was thankful that this wasn't a problem for them to go through. He wasn't happy that Karen could never give him kids, he was just thankful it can be on their terms. "They're going to be ok."

"I hope so. Why don't you go get your dad and we can eat?"

"Yes ma'am" he said saluting her. Karen just rolled her eyes and laughed, smacking him on the ass as he left the room. Soon, they came back and all three ate dinner. A half hour later, they were done eating and Karen was cleaning up the dishes. "Dad and I are going to head to the arena. Come see me when you get there?"

"I may need some pursuasion."

Sidney put his hands on her waist and brought her closer to him. He leaned in letting his lip meet hers for a soft, yet passionate kiss that made Karen's knees go weak. When he broke the kiss, he saw Karen standing there with her eyes still closed "I think you'll come see me" he whispered. Sidney kissed her once more before leaving her breathless in the kitchen. Karen opened her eyes and smiled before finishing the dishes.

Twenty minutes later, Natalie arrived and walked in finding Karen in the living room watching tv.

"Hey Nat" Karen said looking at her friend "you ok?"

"I should be. I have a doctor's appointment Friday so I will know then" she said sitting down beside her.

"Need me to go with you?"

"No, I need to do this on my own."

"Nat, what ever happens Friday you're not going to be alone in this. Diane and Sheril have been through it, I can get you up to 5 months, but Max will be there too."

"I know he will. Everything is just coming down all at once and until I know, then I can figure out what to do."

Karen picked up something in her voice "You're not thinking of getting rid of it are you?"

"At this point, I am going over every option but nothing is definite. I just can't be pregnant right now Kiki."

"What are you afraid of Nattie?"

"That I am going to be alone. That Max will wake up one day and walk out on us" she said letting the tears fall.

Karen hugged her friend as her own eyes began to fill with tears "how about we wait until after the appointment before we start making any decisions, ok?"

"Ok."

"Now" Karen started to say as she wiped her eyes "why don't we head to the arena and go spend some time with those sexy men of ours before the game."

"I like the sound of that." Natalie went to the bathroom to freshen up while Karen went upstairs to finish getting ready. A few minutes later, they headed to the arena. When they got there, they walked in and found the guys. Max gave Natalie a hug and kiss before giving Karen a look and a head nod towards the hallway. Karen told Sidney she'd be back and went into the hall with Max close behind.

"What's up Max?"

"Do you think we could get together tomorrow when you're done with work? I need some advice about what's going on with Nat."

"Sure we can. Nat's one of my best friends, practically my sister Max so you know I want the best to happen for her."

"I know and I am not going away either Kiki. She may feel that I might desert her but I'm not like that."

"Its good to know Max. So, why do we need to talk tomorrow if we're talking now?"

"This isn't the place to really get into the conversation. I just wanted you to know I am with her whatever happens."

Karen hugged Max "You never cease to amaze me Max."

"I do have that affect on people" he said still hugging her not realizing Sidney had walked into the hallway.

"Do I get to spend any time with my girlfriend before the game Max?"

"No, she's all mine Siddo."

"Are you going to argue any of this baby?"

Karen looked from Max to Sidney and back to Max "but he's so warm and comfy" she said wrapping her arms tighter around him.

"You guys are cruel" Sidney said walking back into the lounge as they stood there laughing.

"I think you found the perfect guy to compliment you" Max said placing a kiss on her temple and heading back in. Karen stood there for a minute wondering what he meant before heading in herself. She saw Sidney sitting on the couch and went around to sit on his lap.

"Don't think you can make it up now by sitting on my lap baby."

Karen sat there and pouted "I'm sorry but Max needs all the reassuring he can get. Not many people really like him you know."

"Hey now, play nice Kiki" Max said from acrossed the room.

"Well you started it."

"Yes I did" Max said then stuck his tongue out at them making them all laugh. Soon the guys had to get ready and Natalie got Karen away from Sidney to go meet Sheril and Diane.
